Michigan Votes "No!"

On November 7, 2006, election day, nearly 70 percent of Michigan voters chose to maintain the protected status of mourning doves, a Michigan tradition.

This page is a special thank-you to those voters - and to the people on the Michigan Committee to Restore the Dove Shooting Ban who worked so hard and diligently on behalf of the doves.

Michigan mourning doves are free to fly and perch and do whatever doves do in peace.

The news is definitely worth a loud coo.

Perhaps one day a committee will do something similar for Pennsylvania.
