Dreamy Roses of SharonAugust 17, 2008

Of all the possible subjects to photograph with a soft focus lens, I particularly enjoy the Rose of Sharon. I could be biased - I planted it as a small shrub, and it has become many times its original size.

The flowers come out in great number.

The softness of the Pentax lens is impressive, inasmuch as it allows some detail while casting its blur.

Having impressive flowers helps too.

I find with the soft focus lens that it helps photographing a group of roses of Sharon, instead of concentrating on one.

Photo note: I used a Pentax *ist D, with the SMC 85mm soft focus lens for these photos.
