More BumblebeesOct. 11, 2015

Seasons change, and although a few bumblebees remain active, I thought to post four more photos in tribute to the amazing insect.

Goldenrod is a fall favorite for bumblebees (as well as many other types of bees).

A smaller view of a bumblebee, but I like the aster as a sun symbol. Speaking of symbols, note the smiling face pattern on the back of the bee.

Up, down, or sideways, bumblebees never stop.

Here is a closeup centering on a bumblebee's eye.

Admittedly, the eye is below center in the photo above, but the overall pattern is much fun.

Photo note: The photos were taken with the Pentax K3 and the Pentax SMC-A* 200mm macro lens during September and October 2015 in the Toftrees game land, north of Cooper's Pond, State College, Pennsylvania.
